Agriculture in Export

As per WTO’s Trade Statistics, the share of India’s agricultural exports and imports in the world agriculture trade in 2017 were 2.27 % and 1.90 %, respectively.
Agricultural exports share 9 % of agricultural GDP and Agricultural imports share 5.47% of agricultural GDP has in 2017-18.
The share of agricultural exports in India’s total exports 12.80 % in 2017-18.
Total export: 38.74 Billion US Dollars.
Total import: 20.35 Billion US Dollars.
Highest export destination: USA > Vietnam > Iran > China > UAE
Highest value of export: Marin Products > Rice Basmati > Buffalo Meat > Spices > Rice (Other than Basmati) > Raw Cotton ^2018-19

Government has set an overall target of increasing the Agri and allied exports to US $ 60 billion by 2022.
A new Agricultural Export Policy has been unveiled for the first time in the history of our country during 2017-18.

The concept of the AEZs was floated with a view to promote agricultural exports from India and providing remunerative return to the farming community in a sustained manner. State governments are required to identify AEZs and also evolve a comprehensive package of services provided by all state government agencies, state agriculture universities and all institutions and agencies of the Union Government for intensive delivery in these zones.
