Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI)
- The Directorate of Marketing and Inspection (DMI), an attached Office of the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare under Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, was set up in the year
1935
to implement the agricultural marketing policies and programmes for the integrated development of marketing of agricultural and other allied produce in the country with a view to safeguard the interests of farmers as well as the consumers. - It maintains a close liaison between the Central and the State Governments.

UPPSC 2021 and 16 Regional Agmark Lab. functions under it for the promotion of standardization and grading of Agricultural and allied produce, construction of rural godowns, development of Agricultural marketing infrastructure and marketing information network.
National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM)

was established in1988
, involved in
- Training activities (in 2003-04, Management development programmes were introduced)

- Project formulation and
- Undertaken postgraduate programme in Agri-business management to assist agri graduates to acquire the critical knowhow to compete in the domestic and global business arena.
Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium (SFAC)
- Established in
1994
to support innovative ideas for generating income and employment in rural areas by promoting private investments in agri-business projects. - SFAC is an exclusive Society focused on increasing incomes of small and marginal farmers through aggregation and development of agribusiness.
- SFAC has pioneered the formation and growth of Farmer Producer Organizations/Farmer Producer Companies, which is now being implemented across the length and breadth of the country. SFAC is progressing towards establishing an eco-system for FPOs/FPCs to make them sustainable and viable in the long run.
- SFAC offers Schemes like Equity Grant and Credit Guarantee Fund Scheme to FPCs to improve availability of working capital and development of business activities.
- SFAC promotes development of small agribusiness through its VCA Scheme for value added processing and marketing linkages.
- SFAC is also
implementing
the National Agriculture Market Electronic Trading (e-Nam) platform. The purpose is to provide for a single unified market for agricultural products with much higher price discovery for farmers.
