What is Agriculture?

Etmology

  • The term โ€œAgricultureโ€ is derived from the Latin word agricultลซra โ€œagerโ€ or โ€œagriโ€ meaning โ€œsoilโ€ and โ€œcultลซraโ€ meaning cultivation or growing.
  • ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿป Therefore, Agriculture means the cultivation of the soil.
  • Agriculture in its broadest sense, is not just confined to soil cultivation alone, it also includes all aspects of crop production, horticulture, livestock management, fisheries, forestry, sericulture, apiculture etc.
  • ๐Ÿ•Š Agriculture can be termed as a science ๐Ÿ”ฌ, an art ๐ŸŽจ & business ๐Ÿ“Š altogether.
