About ASRB

• The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) was founded as an independent recruitment agency on November 1, 1973, following the recommendations of the Gajendragadkar Committee (Ex CJI of India) & with the Cabinet’s approval.
• Recently, the Indian government has restructured the Board, and this decision was officially announced in the GOI Gazette on August 9, 2018. The ASRB is now detached from ICAR and has been attached to the Department of Agricultural Research & Education (DARE) under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India.
• Additionally, the Board has its own administrative staff in the secretariat and has autonomous control over this staff. Finally, a separate budget head has been created for the ASRB within DARE.
• ASRB is headed by Chairman. The current Chairman is Dr. Shiv Prasad Kimothi who is 1986 batch ARS (Livestock Production Management) & passout from NDRI, Karnal.
