Grade A Officer (RDBS) Examination

  • The recruitment Assistant Manager in Grade ‘A’ in Rural Development Banking Service (RDBS). The selection process consists of three phases.
  • Phase-I: Preliminary Examination (Objective)
  • Phase-II: Main Examination (Descriptive and Objective)
  • Phase-III: Personal Interview
  • Preliminary examination is only qualifying in nature and is meant to serve as a screening test. The candidates who qualify and rank sufficiently high as decided by the bank, shall be called for appearing in the Main Examination.
  • Applicants qualifying in Phase-II Main Examination and securing sufficiently high rank in merit shall be shortlisted for Personal Interview.

Phase Ist

  • The Phase 1 exam, also known as the preliminary exam, is a single test conducted in online mode. It consists of 200 questions, one mark each, total 200 marks.
  • The total time allowed for the exam is 120 minutes (2 hours) without any section-specific time limit. That means you will get 36 seconds ⏱️ for each question. There is no sectional timing restrcitions.
  • Negative marking applies, with 0.25 (1/4) of the marks for a question deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • All the questions will have multiple choices. Out of the five answers to a question only one will be the correct answer.

Strategy for Phase I Examination
  • Out of 8 sections, 5 sections, namely Quant (20 Marks), Reasoning (20 Marks), English (30 Marks), Computer (20 Marks) & Decision Making (10 Marks), are only qualifying in nature.
  • That means you just have to clear the sectional cut-off. The sectional cut-off for agricultural streams is usually very low and under 5 marks in each section except english (under 12 marks out of 30). That you can easily clear by studying some important topics. The list of important topics for phase one is provided by us.
  • Also do notice that the marks in english section is highest among the qualifing sections. In NABARD your english should be good. You have to start daily reading at least one editorial from the english newspaper and give weekly mock tests.
  • Out of 8 sections, 3 sections, namely General Awarness (20 Marks), Economics & Social Issues (40 Marks) & Agriculture & Rural Development (40 Marks) are merit section.
  • Your shortlisting for Phase 2 is based on marks scored in the merit section only. So focus on these three sections mainly.

Phase IInd

  • The phase 2 consists of 2 papers of 100 marks each.
