Simplification and Approximation

This topic focuses on solving arithmetic expressions quickly using BODMAS, number sense, approximation rules, and short methods for roots, fractions, and percentage-like values.

It is a high-speed scoring topic because questions are usually direct and short. Strong performance here saves time that can be used on DI, arithmetic word problems, or difficult reasoning sets.

Use approximation when the options are far apart or the question is clearly designed for estimation. If values are close or options are tricky, exact calculation may still be safer.

Practise BODMAS order, square and cube familiarity, fraction reduction, and elimination through nearest values. Most improvement comes from repeated timed drills rather than long theory reading.
